LANCASTER, Pa. - Dozens of volunteers got together at Clipper Magazine Stadium Friday to pack 70,000 meals for hungry people around the world.

The local non-profit Go Beyond teamed up with the international group Stop Hunger Now to get the meals to places where they are needed most.

“It's the best thing in the world, knowing those meals are going to change lives somewhere in the world where people desperately need them,” Andrew Moser, with Stop Hunger Now, said.

Organizers hope that as nourishing as the end product can be for those who receive the food, the process of packing the meals can be spiritual nourishment for those who helped put it all together.

“For them to hear about a need to realize they can do good and come together, and then come to an event like this, rub shoulders and then actually make a positive result in the end, it's a great feeling,” Jerry Lingenfelter, with Go Beyond, said.
