EPHRATA, Pa.– An Ephrata father admitted to abusing his infant daughter and stalking the mother.

Edgardo Reyes, 28, pleaded guilty to assaulting and stalking the child’s mother and felony counts of aggravated assault, endangering the welfare of a child, and misdemeanor counts of simple assault.

The child was about a month old when police responded to an area hospital in August 2015 for reported child abuse.

It was determined by doctors that the child had sustained over 28 rib fractures, a fractured pelvis, a cut on her lip, and abrasions to the face and knee over a period of time. Doctors believe that the injuries were sustained in multiple instances of abuse.

Reyes admitted to police that he had squeezed the child because she was crying and that he had “forcefully” pushed her legs while changing her diaper.

In regards to the stalking charges, police said that Reyes abused and threatened the woman on multiple occasions in 2015.

Reyes is being held at Lancaster County Prison on $275,000 bail and a sentence will be ordered in about 3 months.
