Memorial Day weekend travel is expected to be heavy.

Memorial Day weekend is the official start of summer. Millions of people will travel to visit family and friends, while others will host gatherings at home. Memorial Day – Monday, May 30 – has historically been a day when Americans remember their ancestors, family members, and loved ones, who gave the ultimate sacrifice.

The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission expects more than two million drivers will travel over the holiday weekend. The commission urges motorists to stay alert and drive safely without distraction.
