HARRISBURG, Pa. – A dispute over a vehicle leads to a shot fired and the alleged shooter charged.

Just before 11 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, city police responded to the midtown area for a report of shots fired into a vehicle. When officers arrived on the scene, the victim, an unidentified 41 year old male, said that he had just been shot at and was following the suspect vehicle. Officers then stopped the suspect’s vehicle at the intersection of Susquehanna and Kelker Streets.  Several occupants in the vehicle were detained and a handgun seized along with illegal drugs.

The driver of the vehicle 37 year old Angelia Gorecki, was identified as the victim’s on and off again girlfriend. She and the victim had been involved in dispute over the vehicle she was in. The victim accused Gorecki of failing to make the last payment on the vehicle.

The victim had confronted Gorecki, while she was driving the vehicle in the area of 6th and Schuylkill Streets with her new boyfriend in it. The verbal exchange became heated to the point that Gorecki allegedly pulled out a handgun and walked towards the victim who was seated in his own vehicle. She pointed the gun at the victim and fired one shot, narrowly missing the victim. She then got back into her vehicle and drove away.

Gorecki was arrested at the traffic stop without incident.  Her handgun, a 9 millimeter semi-automatic was seized from the vehicle.

Charges against Gorecki include Criminal Attempt Homicide, Recklessly Endangering, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Marijuana.
