Rutter’s store robbed in Adams County

READING TWP, Pa- Sate police are investigating a robbery at a Rutter’s Farm Store early Wednesday morning.

According to state police in Gettysburg, a man robbed the Rutter’s at 2115 E. Berlin Road in Reading Township around 1 a.m.

Police say the man, who had red facial hair, was wearing an oversized black hooded sweatshirt and light blue jeans.

Investigators said the robber asked for a pack of cigarettes and told the cashier he left his wallet in the car. He returned about 10 minutes later and told the cashier to give him all the money.

The robber didn’t show a weapon, but said no one would be hurt if she cooperated.

The robber left the store, running north toward Route 94.
