LEBANON,Pa- A 20-year old Lebanon resident, Joseph O’Neal, has been charged with assault and aggravated indecent assault associated with a missing Georgia teen.

Lebanon City Police Department charged O’Neal with statutory sexual assault, indecent assault with a person less than 16-years old, aggravated indecent assault with a person less than 16 years old, interference with the custody of children concealment of whereabouts of a child, unlawful contact with a minor and corruption of minors on May 26. He was arrested Thursday in his Lebanon home located on the 100 block of E. Weidman St.

According to the department, “police were advised by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Harrisburg Office on behalf of authorities in Floyd County Georgia that a missing 15-year old may be in the company of O’Neal in Lebanon City.”

The 15-year old girl was found at 5:36 pm with O’Neal, and she appeared to be well, police reported.

The department alleges that O’Neal drove to Georgia, picked up the 15-year old knowing she was 15-years old, and brought her to Pennsylvania on May 22.

O’Neal and the teenager met using a social media website, where they used the site’s video feature to perform sexual acts, police reported. It is presumed that O’Neal and the 15-year old girl have had sexual intercourse.

Lebanon City Police allege O’Neal knew the teenage girl’s father reported her missing to Georgia police, but he made no efforts to contact them, or to return her to authorities.

O’Neal was transported to Lebanon County Correctional Facility, and will be arraigned before District Judge Thomas Cappello.

He is in jail, and his bail is set at $100,000.
