Cumberland County man accused of assaulting a woman

MECHANICSBURG, Pa. – A Mechanicsburg man is charged with simple assault and harassment after police say he strangled a woman. Upper Allen Police arrested Fathi Abdulwahab, 27, of Mechanicsburg, after responding to a report of an assault Saturday in the 600 block of Cumberland Pointe Circle just before 6:30 a.m.

Responding officers found the victim with several injuries indicating she had been assaulted. The woman told police she was struck multiple times and strangled by Abdulwahab.

After an investigation, Abdulwahab was taken into custody for the domestic assault. Abdulwahab was transported to the Cumberland County Prison for processing and was later arraigned where bail was set at $2,000.
