Elderly woman struck and killed by a truck in Lancaster County

COLUMBIA, Pa. – A 73-year old Columbia woman died Sunday, after being hit by a pick-up truck. It happened just after noon, at the intersection of Cherry Street and Lancaster Avenue.  Police say the victim was crossing the street when she was hit by the truck. It was being driven by a 58-year old woman, also from Columbia.

The victim was taken to Lancaster General Hospital, where she later died from her injuries. Her name will be released after her family is notified.

The Columbia Borough Police Department is investigating the incident and is being assisted by the East Hempfield Township Police Department.
