CUMBERLAND COUNTY, Pa.– An 8-year-old girl was airlifted to the hospital after being shocked in a pool Sunday evening.

Police say that a group of children were swimming in a private pool along the first block of Rockledge Drive in Silver Spring Township. A pool light was switched on outside of the pool,  causing the kids inside to be shocked.  The 8-year-old girl was the only child that suffered severe injuries from the shock.

The other children were treated on scene and are expected to be okay officials said.

Family members began CPR on the girl before police arrived. Police did use AED on the girl before she was airlifted to Penn State Hershey Medical Center.

As of Monday morning, the child is in critical condition in the intensive care unit. The girl’s name is not being released at this time.
