MARIETTA, Lancaster County--  People young and old observed Memorial Day with 2 local parades in Marietta and Mountville, Lancaster County.  A variety of floats, reenactments and candy being thrown for the kids.  People attending say its also important to remember the reason for having the parade.

After the parade a memorial stone was unveiled at the Mountville Common Grounds.  The now unused cemetery holds 40-50 headstones dating back to 1825.

The headstones are so weather worn and damaged, the names are no longer legible, so with the help of the Lancaster County Historical Society, the names were found and placed on the memorial stone, including a soldier from the civil war.
