Distraction Burglary

LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. – The South Londonderry Township Police Department warns local residents about a “distraction” type burglary that occurred at a home  in the 200 block of Palmyra Road on Sunday, May 29th.

Two male suspects showed up in the neighborhood in a light-colored pickup truck. One suspect approached the victim at his residence and asked to see his rear property line because they were installing a fence for a neighbor. The suspect then made a phone call while with the victim in the backyard. The next day the victim realized that cash and jewelry had been stolen from his home.

Police urge residents to be cautious when dealing with uninvited/unexpected visitors to your home.

Ask for ID from anyone claiming to represent a company and don’t be hesitant to write down their information. Legitimate business people will not object.
