LANCASTER, Pa. – Lancaster City Police made an arrest in an early Friday morning shooting. It happened at about 1:57 a.m. this morning in the 500 block of North Plum Street.

Two 18-year old males were treated for non-life threatening gunshot wounds at Lancaster General Hospital.  Investigators say the victims were shot as they were leaving a house party.

As the investigation progressed throughout the morning, detectives were able to identify a suspect Francis Sharide Dinkins, Jr., 18, of the the 500 block of East End Avenue, Lancaster.  A warrant was obtained for Dinkins’ arrest.

At approximately 11:40 am today, patrol officers and detectives went to Dinkins home, at 519 East End Ave. to attempt to serve the arrest warrant.   While the officers were attempting to secure the house and search for Dinkins, he attempted to flee out of a third floor window. The officers watching the rear of the residence saw that Dinkins was holding a handgun in his hands and when he was confronted, Dinkins went back inside the residence. The firearm was not pointed at any of the officers.

The officers and detectives continued to call for Dinkins to come out of the house. He eventually came downstairs and surrendered to the officers, who took him into custody without further incident.

Dinkins faces two counts of aggravated assault , one count of discharging a firearm into an occupied structure,  one count of firearms not to be carried without a license and four counts of recklessly endangering another person.
