JACKSON TWP, York County, Pa- The body of a 3-year-old whom police say was killed by her mother had several ‘deep’ bite marks on her torso and bruising all over of her body.

According to Northern York County Regional Police, 3-year-old Isabel Rose Godfrey was found lifeless on the kitchen floor of her Jackson Township home early Wednesday evening when her 6-year-old brother told neighbors their mother was trying to kill her.

Neighbors told police the mother, Regina Lester, attempted to get into their home saying “I’m going to kill your kids.”

Lester was found naked and hugging a tree in the yard, police say. She was taken to the hospital where she was later arraigned on charges of homicide, child endangerment and making terroristic threats in the death of her daughter.

A search warrant of the home revealed opened packages of synthetic marijuana and a smoking pipe on the kitchen table of the home. Police say the items were in close proximity to where Isabel’s body was found.

An autopsy on the girl was scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday at Lehigh Valley Hospital in Allentown according to the  York County Coroner’s Office.

The girl’s death is considered suspicious at this time.
