Harrisburg, PA – PennDOT’s paving operation wrapped up very early this morning and the State Street bridge in Harrisburg was reopened to traffic. Traffic continues to be restricted to a single lane in each direction on the bridge, however, as the contractor finishes work for the Pennsylvania Department of

General Services (DGS). In January, DGS began a project to update the drainage system in the bridge. Now that the paving has been completed, the contractor is cleaning drainage inlets and should finish and restore the bridge to two lanes of traffic in each direction before the end of the week.statestreet bridge

Motorists should also be alert to nighttime traffic lane restrictions as the contractor paints traffic lines and installs pavement legends on the pavement.

This nighttime work should be completed in about two weeks.
