Woman charged with injuring her child in Lower Swatara Township

LOWER SWATARA,  TWP, Pa- A Middletown woman is facing charges after police say she injured her child to prevent the father from his custody visits.

According to Lower Swatara Township police, Diana Benitez-Reyes, is being charged with aggravated assault on child less than the age of 6, endangering the welfare of children, false reports of child abuse.

The charges are stemming from injuries Benitez-Reyes inflicted on her child who is less than the age of 1 at the time the incidents occurred.

Police say Benitez-Reyes caused the injuries to her own child and blamed the father in an attempt to remove his custody visits. The child’s injuries date back to January 31st police said.
