HARRISBURG, Pa. – Harrisburg City Police responded at about 1:15 p.m. this afternoon to a traffic accident at N. 15th & Herr Streets.  Officers determined that a 13 year old male from Steelton was operating a dirt bike with a passenger behind him.  They were traveling south on N. 15th Street towards Herr Street.

The 13 year old failed to stop at the stop sign and crashed into a Cadillac that had the right of way causing $3,000 in estimated damages to the vehicle.

The driver and passenger of the dirt bike were ejected over the Cadillac and landed on the ground.  The 13 year old suffered a broken leg.  The passenger was able to get up and fled the scene with the dirt bike leaving the 13 year old.  The 13 year old was taken to the local hospital to be treated for his injuries but is expected to recover.

The 13 year old will be cited with 8 citations which will total over $1,000 and his parents maybe civilly liable for the damages done to the Cadillac.
