Fire destroys chicken house in Lancaster on the same farm that was hit by Tornado in February

SALISBURY, TWP, Lancaster, Pa- An early morning fire destroyed a chicken house at the same Lancaster County farm that sustained severe damage from a tornado in February.

Officials say the fire broke out inside the barn at 334 Millwood Road near Cut Road, south of Route 340 in Salisbury Township, just beforeĀ  8:00 a.m. About hour later officials say the barn collapsed.

Officials say about 20,000 chickens perished in the fire. No one else was injured.

The cause of the fire is still unknown and the State police fire marshal is currently on scene investigating.
