Pennsylvania is poised to pass a gambling expansion bill, which would add slot machines to off-track betting parlors and airports, as well as regulate Internet gaming and fantasy sports. Revenue from expansion could lead to fewer taxes for Commonwealth residents.
General Assembly lawmakers are nearing the fiscal year budget deadline of July 1. Both parties, in an election year, are clamoring to balance the 2016-17 budget. And, they are looking to fill over a $1 billion hole without an increase in state income tax.
