Two dead in head on crash on Rt 322, Lebanon County

LEBANON COUNTY, Pa. –  A head on crash in Lebanon County involving a car and a pick up has claimed two lives, a 17 year old Sinking Spring, Berks County girl and a 48 year old, Brownstown, Lancaster man.   It happened at about 12:45 p.m. in Cornwall Borough about three quarters of a mile east of Route 72.

Police say the teenager, Danielle N. Beard was westbound in a Pontiac sedan for reasons unknown crossed the center-line into the eastbound lanes and slammed head on into a Chevrolet Silverado that was towing a trailer.  Beard was pronounced dead at the scene.  The driver of the pickup, Bryan L. Eberly, 48 was extricated from the pickup cab by emergency crews. He was flown to Hershey Medical Center via helicopter where he succumbed to his injuries several hours later.

Route 322 at the scene of the accident was closed for hours for an accident reconstruction team. The accident remains under investigation.
