Funeral service for Amanda Strous held Saturday morning at Aldersgate United Methodist Church

YORK COUNTY, Pa- Amanda Strous was laid to rest Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church in York County.Aldergate church

Strous, 27, was a Dallastown Area High School graduate and Shippensburg University graduate.

Strous was killed during a fire in her North Carolina apartment on June 18th.  Investigators determined the fire was set intentionally and charged Matthew Benner with her murder.

Police have not released a motive in the killing of Strous, who authorities say lived in the same apartment complex as Benner.

Shippensburg University in Pennsylvania said on their website that Strous was a field hockey player from 2007-2010. She was then an assistant coach there as she completed her master's degree.

Strous was set to get married next month.
