14-year-old rescued from pond dies

LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – A 14-year-old boy, pulled from a Salisbury Township farm pond in eastern Lancaster County over the weekend, died Sunday night at a Delaware County hospital.

The teen was identified in published reports as David Marlin Beiler. He was swimming with some other boys at the farm at 5333 Peters Road, when he began struggling to stay afloat. Police along with fire and EMS responded to the farm at 2:16 p.m. on Sunday.

Beiler was flown unconscious to a hospital in DuPont Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.
