ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.– A woman is headed to state prison after setting up a man with a fake Craigslist ad and robbed him after beating him with a baseball bat.
Amber Consylman, 22, will serve 3 to 8 years for her role in the Nov. 5, 2013 beating at Movi-e-Town on North Hanover St.
The victim believed he was buying a television for $200 when he arrived at the movie theater, but instead, he was lured to the rear of the theater where he was beaten with a baseball bat by Consylman’s boyfriend, Zachary Moore. The man suffered a fractured skull, broken hand, and other injuries.
Consylman and Moore were able to steal the victim’s car keys and take items from his car, including a Nikon camera, a car stereo and $200 in cash.
Consylman pleaded guilty Monday in Lancaster County Court to felony counts of robbery, conspiracy and aggravated assault. On Tuesday, she also pleaded guilty to DUI after a Nov. 27, 2013 crash on Mill Road in Elizabethtown, with a sentence that will run concurrent to her state prison term. Consylman was also ordered to pay $1,108 in restitution.
Moore, the man with the bat, pleaded guilty last year and is in the midst of serving a 4-10 year state prison term.
Assistant District Attorney Christopher Lechner said the crime was fueled by heroin addiction and stressed that drug abuse does not only affect the user, and in this case, it led to a man being severely beaten.
