Perry County man dies in farm accident, drowns in manure

PERRY COUNTY, Pa. – Pennsylvania State Police and the Perry County Coroner’s Office have identified the victim in a fatal farming accident as Leon Glenn Stump, Jr., 26 of Newport.  Police and emergency crews responded at 8:05 a.m. Tuesday to the farm on the 800 block of Meadow Grove Road, in Buffalo Township.

A preliminary investigation revealed that Stump was operating farm equipment when he fell into a reservoir containing agriculture waste.

Stump’s death has been ruled accidental and attributed to an agricultural waste drowning.
