Police seek to ID suspects in vending machine thefts at Harrisburg Mall

DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa.- Swatara Township Police are asking for help from the public in identifying two suspects in the break in and theft from vending machines at the Harrisburg Mall.  The thefts happened on Tuesday, June 28.

Surveillance photos revealed the suspects are a white male and white female.  The male is about 6 foot tall, thin, brown hair, wearing a dark shirt, black pants with a white stripe, black sneakers and a pink baseball cap with a black bill.

In surveillance video he appears to use a key to open three vending machines on the upper level entrance near Bass Pro Shops at about 2:58 p.m.. He removed cash from each machine.

His female accomplice acted as a look-out for him. She stood at an angle to the male and the machines to block any view of what he was doing from anyone approaching inside the mall. The female was average height and build with brown hair wearing a light green sleeveless top, jeans and sandals. She was also carrying a large black purse. The female has a tattoo on her right shoulder blade.

The suspects then walked out the exit.

Less than two hours later at 5:48 p.m. the same male wearing the same clothing except for a white Under Armor cap used a key to enter a vending machine on the first level Mall entrance beside Wells Fargo Bank. He removed cash from the machine and walked out the exit. The female was not present at the second theft.

Anyone with information on the identities of the pair are asked to call Detective Haney at (717) 564-2550 or leave a tip at www.SwataraPolice.org
