SPRING GARDEN TWP., York County, Pa. — A neighbor spat escalated into attempted homicide charges for a York County couple. Spring Garden Twp Police say they were called to the 1500 block of South George Street on June 30th for a neighbor problem. When police arrived the neighbors were yelling at each other on the front porch and the officers reported smelling a strong odor of gasoline. One man was yelling that he needed EMS because he’d been doused with gasoline and his eyes and face were burning. The victim, Keith Bull, told police he’d been doused with a McDonald’s cup full of gas by his girlfriend’s neighbor, Joshua Rodriguez. The men got into an altercation that started when Bull’s girlfriend complained to Rodriguez’ wife, Carissa Rodriguez, about their children slamming their door while she was on the front porch smoking a cigarette. Carissa Rodriguez punched Bull’s girlfriend, referred to as Ms. Roberts, in court documents and they struck one another and went to the ground and continued to fight. At some point, the men started to argue with one another.

Joshua Rodriguez threw a cup of gasoline on Bull and they began fighting. He said he threw the gas at Bull because he’d felt threatened by him in the past. Bull and his girlfriend say that while the men fought, Carissa Rodriguez picked up the cigarette she was smoking before the fight and got behind Bull and tried to burn his neck with her cigarette. They felt she was trying to set him on fire.

Both Carissa and Joshua Rodriguez were taken into custody and charged with attempted homicide and other related charges.
