One man injured after shooting in Lancaster Wednesday night

LANCASTER, Pa- Police are investigating a shooting Wednesday night that left one man injured.

According to police, the shooting took place just before 11:30 p.m. along the 800 block of Sixth Street. Officers found a 37-year-old Lancaster man shot in the chest and hip.

He was transported to an area hospital and is currently listed in stable condition with non life threatening injuries.

Officers investigated the scene, and interviewed witnesses and determined that the shooting happened inside the home located at 823 Sixth Street.

There was some sort of physical altercation before the shooting happened, police said.

Police do not know if the victim and the suspect knew each other but said the shooting does not appear to be a random act.

The investigation is ongoing.
