Governor Wolf Signs Bill Requiring Insurance Parity for Oral Chemotherapy Medication

Harrisburg, PA– Today, Governor Wolf signed HB 60, sponsored by Rep. Matt Baker, which requires that insurance companies provide the same coverage for oral chemotherapy that they would provide for intravenous or injectable chemotherapy medications.
“Today, I am pleased to sign HB 60 into law,” said Governor Tom Wolf. “No individual should ever have to forgo the medicine they need because of treatment costs. This bill will ensure that Pennsylvanians receive the medication they need at a fair cost. ”
HB 60 creates more parity between the out-of-pocket costs associated with more traditional forms of chemotherapy drugs and the newer, oral formularies. The bill passed out of the House on a vote of 197-3 and was passed unanimously out of the Senate.

Act 75- HB 898, sponsored by Rep. Boyle amends Title 75 (Vehicles), in prelim. provisions, further defining “emergency vehicle”; further providing for drivers; for visual & audible signals on emergency & authorized vehicles; providing for removal of dead deer.
Act 76 – HB 1062, sponsored by Rep. Killion, amends the Public Welfare Code, in public assistance, further providing for persons eligible for medical assistance, for payments, for institutional care; for provider submissions; for time periods, for eHealth Partnership Program.
Act 77- HB 1335, sponsored by Rep. Lawrence, amends Title 75 (Vehicles), in powers of department and local authorities, further providing for emergency telephones along Pennsylvania Turnpike.
Act 7A – HB 2175 sponsored by Rep. Markosek, makes an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within the General Fund to the Office of Small Business Advocate in the Department of Community & Economic Development.
Act 8A – HB 2176, sponsored by Rep. Markosek, makes an appropriation from the State Employees’ Retirement Fund to provide for expenses of the State Employees’ Retirement Board for the fiscal year July 1, 2016 to June 30, 2017.
Act 9A – HB 2177, sponsored by Rep. Markosek, makes an appropriation from a restricted revenue account within the General Fund to the Office of Consumer Advocate in the Office of Attorney General.
