YORK, Pa.-- Over a hundred people gathered to peacefully protest the deadly police involved shooting this past week.

"We cant think, oh another one," Stephanie Seaton said, who helped to organize the event. "No it's another life."

The people gathered in two places. The Cherry Lane Courtyard and Penn Park in York.

Event organizer, Jada Richardson said she wanted to create a peaceful protest.

"We're not going to sit here and wait around for something like that to happen in York before we come together," she said.

"We are one community, so our barriers need to come down," Seaton said.

The groups would march separately through York. They said chants and messages throughout the city in a peaceful manner. The two groups came together outside the York Police Department.

"I'm glad to know my fellow [Yorkers] feel the same way I do about coming together instead of being divided," Lettice Brown from York said.

The group chanted, "no justice, no peace" and "our lives matter." Richardson said she hoped the police would come out to join them, but the police stayed inside.

"I think it's definitely important for them to feel safe," Richardson said. "I feel like it would have been better for them to come down here and not be scared."

The group finished with prayers and dispersed peacefully.

Richardson said the next step is to take their concerns to the local government level.
