Man accused of stealing woman’s purse in Lancaster

LANCASTER, Pa.–A man accused of of stealing woman’s purse from her Lancaster city home has been arrested.

Police identified the suspect as Donald Ben Jr., 53, of York.  He is being held in Lancaster County Prison on $50,000 bail.

Police say they responded to the 400 block of W. Walnut Street on July 3 and learned that a man, later identified as Ben, entered a woman’s home without her permission and stole her purse.

Ben was taken into custody on July 8 and investigators recovered most of the victim’s belongings at the time of his arrest.

He is charged with burglary.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for July 27.
