LANCASTER, Pa. — Three females told a Lancaster County judge Monday how serial sex abuser Trevor Wimer caused them a life of pain and anxiety, before the judge jailed Wimer for decades.
Wimer sexually abused seven females in all, between 2012 to 2015, luring them to his Gordonville and Warwick Township homes via social media and text messages.
County Judge Howard Knisely ordered a 20-to-40-year prison sentence, to be followed by 10 years of probation.
Judge Knisely also deemed Wimer a “sexually violent predator,” ordering he abide by conditions for sex offenders and register his whereabouts under Megan’s Law for the rest of his life.
Wimer, 22, pleaded guilty in February to numerous charges regarding crimes against the females, including three who were minors.
On Monday, Assistant District Attorney Christopher Sarno rejected defense claims that Wimer was young and immature regarding sexual relations. Sarno said the crimes involved sustained acts and enjoyment on Wimer’s part.
Sarno pointed out that a psychologist opined Wimer has paraphilic disorder, meaning a desire for non-consensual sex acts.
Sarno also pointed out there were likely more than seven victims, but others discovered in the investigation chose not to participate in prosecution.
Wimer met many of the victims at Park City mall and coffee shops and obtained their information. He then contacted the females online or through text and asked them to hang out at his Gordonville home or former home in Warwick Township. He made sure the victims had no way of getting home.
One of the victims who spoke Monday said Wimer raped her and, after he was charged in a separate case and posted bail, he frequented a restaurant where she worked and she was forced to wait on him.
Northern Lancaster County Regional police (Detective Eric Zimmerman) and East Lampeter Township police (Detective Joseph Edgell) filed charges.
