Coroner identifies body found in Codorus Creek in York City

YORK – The York County Coroner has just released the name of man who’s body was found in the Codorus Creek. He has been identified as 36-year-old James Edward Close, IV.

Close has no known address.

Police and emergency crews responded just after 3 o’clock to the 200 block of West Philadelphia Street near the intersection of Pershing Avenue to reports of a body found.

An autopsy has been scheduled for 8 a.m. Friday at Lehigh Hospital to determine the exact cause of Close’s death.
