EAST MANCHESTER TWP., YORK COUNTY – It’s been a goal of organizers for a few years and it becomes reality this August. The York Open is expanding from one day and 18 holes to two days and 36. The first round is Friday, August 5th. The field will be cut to the low 40 in scores for the second and final round on Saturday, August 6th. Royal Manchester Golf Links is the home of the event until 2025. That type of stability helps draw the top players from the surrounding area. Even though the York Open is held in York County, the competitors will travel a long distance to tee it up.

"Last year, we had professional players from 11 different states so they came as far away as Florida and California," detailed Royal Manchester PGA Head Professional and GM Kieron Mooney. "You're not bound by state boundaries, you can come from anywhere, even foreign countries."

The event is open to all pros, amateurs, seniors and ladies. You can register through the York County Amateur Golf Association at their website http://www.ycaga.org.
