CARLISLE, Pa. — A Carlisle man is charged with making terroristic threats and impersonating a police officer. Police say John M. Robinson threatened to shoot his ex-girlfriend. Robinson also left voicemails on the victim’s phone making threats and telling her he knew where she was. He even left a voicemail where he pretended to be a police officer.
Robinson is charged with terroristic threats, impersonating a public servant, stalking, simple assault, and harassment. Anyone with info on Robinsons whereabouts are asked to contact the Carlisle Police Department.

Strong armed robbery: On July 16th at 10:47pm a man reported he was the victim of a strong arm robbery. The victim stated that as he was walking on the first block of W Louther St he was stopped by a black male who appeared to be in his mid 30’s. The black male proceeded to go through the victims pockets and then got into a vehicle, possibly a black Acura TL, and fled the scene. The victim reported that cash, a phone and medication was taken from him. This case is under investigation.
Theft of a Bicycle: On Saturday July 16th, at about 04:22am, Carlisle Police responded to a report of a bicycle theft on the 100 block of W Locust Ave, within the Borough of Carlisle. A gray Mongoose 20 inch freestyle bicycle with orange and black decals had been stolen from the rear of a residence. The bicycle was stolen between 9pm Thursday and 11:45am Friday. Anyone with information on this incident should contact Carlisle Police.
Theft from vehicle: On Sunday, July 17th, police received a report of a theft from a motor vehicle. Sometime between 9:30pm Saturday and 8:30am Sunday, an unlocked vehicle was entered in the 1st block of S Bedford St. The actor/s made off with $2.00 in loose change, and multiple CD’s.
Drug Arrest: On July 17th at approximately 9:30pm, the Carlisle Police responded to a call about a suspicious vehicle parked in the area of Spring View St. Officers identified the operator of the vehicle as Gavyn Metcalf. During the investigation, officers say they discovered multiple bags of a controlled substance in the vehicle. Police say drug paraphernalia was also found in the vehicle. Metcalf was arrested and transported to Cumberland County Prison for processing and was released.
