STEAMY WITH T’STORMS: Monday is another hot day, with plenty of humidity too. An approaching cold front even brings thunderstorms for the afternoon. Expect a mixture of sunshine and clouds through the morning, along with quickly spiking temperatures. As the cold front approaches, expect showers and storms to pop up to the west around 11 A.M. They push east through the rest of the region through about 4 P.M. There’s the chance for a few strong to severe thunderstorms during this time. Damaging winds and hail are the main threats. Afternoon high temperatures reach the middle 80s to lower 90s before the storms cross. A stray shower or storm is possible for the evening and night. Lows fall into the middle 60s to lower 70s.
BRIEF HEAT BREAK: Temperatures come down a bit through the middle of the week, and there’s even a break from the humidity as well! After a muggy start Tuesday, the humidity levels drop through the afternoon. There’s plenty of sunshine, with afternoon temperatures in the middle to upper 80s. Wednesday brings plenty of sunshine, and the comfortable humidity levels remain in place. Highs are in the lower to middle 80s. A strong ridge of high pressure begins building back into the region on Thursday. The humidity levels nudge up, and so do temperatures. Highs are in the middle 80s to near 90 degrees.
VERY HOT & HUMID WEEKEND: The strong ridge of high pressure takes full control for the weekend. This means plenty of summer heat and humidity. Friday temperatures are well into the 90s with a mixture of clouds and sunshine. There’s the chance for afternoon isolated thunderstorms. Saturday brings smaller storm chances, but it’s still very hot and humid. Highs are in the lower to middle 90s. Only a stray thunderstorm is possible. Temperatures are back into the middle 90s on Sunday, and we’re watching for more widespread shower and thunderstorm chances.
Have a great Monday!
