FRANKLIN COUNTY, Pa. – The coroner is called to a crash involving a vehicle into a building in Mont Alto.  The vehicle burst into flames trapping two people.   The driver of the vehicle was reportedly killed.

Pennsylvania State Police say a white Ford Explorer was seem traveling south on Route 233 at a high rate of speed. The Explorer continued through the intersection of Mont Alto Road(Route 997), ran a stop sign and traveled onto Park Street.  Continuing on the driver of the SUV ran another stop sign at the intersection of Park Street and Penn Street.

The vehicle then crashed into the basement of a home at 6 Penn Street.  The residents were not at home at the time of the crash.

The driver and occupant in the SUV were entrapped after the impact. The unidentified driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger, Travis Allen Meshyock was flown to a hospital by helicopter. His condition is unknown.

The name of the deceased driver is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Pennsylvania State Police – Chambersburg, are continuing their investigation.
