Former NFL coach and Harrisburg native, Dennis Green, died at age 67 today, according to NFL.com.
It is being reported that Green passed away after cardiac arrest.
Green’s career ended in 2006 with a 113-94 overall record in 13 seasons and a 4-8 mark in the postseason. He led Minnesota to a 15-1 season in 1998 and was a missed field goal away from a Super Bowl appearance.
Green is known for a post game tirade when he was the coach of the Arizona Cardinals, saying that they let the Chicago Bears beat them despite the fact that Green said, “They were who we thought they were.”
