Two alarm fire leaves five adults, two children homeless in Dillsburg

YORK COUNTY, Pa. – Five adults, two children, several cats and a dog are left homeless in a two alarm fire in Dillsburg.  The fire broke out just before 3 p.m. this afternoon at the home in the 100 block of S. Baltimore Street, just across from the Borough Municipal building and one block away from the fire station.

dillsburg2IMG_4231Firefighters were on scene almost immediately, and quickly sounded a second alarm for more manpower. Officials say the fire was apparently started by a discarded cigarette in the rear of the home. The flames spread quickly causing heavy to the rear of the residence.

The fire was under control in less than an hour.  There were no injuries.
