Man killed in car crash along Interstate 83 Friday night

SPRINGETTSBURY TWP, York, Pa- A 24-year-old man died Friday night after he was involved in a one-vehicle crash along Interstate 83 in York County.

The crash occurred around 10:00 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate at Exit 19, the Market Street exit in Springettsbury Township.

According to the York County Coroner’s office, Brian Patrick Shiley Jr., of York, was driving his Chrysler Sebring when he lost control and collided with a guard rail, then went down a 30-40 foot embankment.

Shiley was pronounced dead at the scene.

A passenger in the car survived the crash and was taken to York Hospital for treatment.
