Man wearing dress robs York County bank

SPRINGETTSBURY TWP., York County Pa. — A man wearing a dress robbed a bank this morning in York County. It happened around 9:37am at the M&T Bank located at 1000 Haines Road in Springettsbury Twp. The suspect entered the bank wearing a flowered dress and a orange colored wig. He presented a note demanding money. The suspect left the bank on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. There were no injuries to anyone in the bank.

The suspect is described as a black male, about 5’8-5’10 tall, and of a thin build. Anyone with information is asked to contact Springettsbury Township Police at 717-757-3525 or York County Crime Stoppers at 717-755-TIPS (8477).

On July 16th, a man dressed in women’s clothing and a wig robbed a bank in York Township.

It happened just before 9:30 a.m. at York Traditions Bank located along the 200 block of St. Charles Way.

Police say the man entered into the bank and handed the teller a note which said “put the money in the bag.”

Police are not yet officially saying the robberies are related, but Springettsbury Police are working with York Area Regional Police.
