COLUMBIA BOROUGH, Lancaster County — Just before 9:00 a.m. Thursday morning, Columbia Borough polcie have one male suspect and one person of interest in custody after active shooting incident in Columbia, Lancaster County.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED:

Around 3:25 a.m. police were called to the 100 block of N. 7th Street for reports of shots fired.

As police were arriving, witnesses told police that at least one person was shooting a gun. The shooter was mobile but it is unknown at this time if the shooter was one foot or in a vehicle, police said.

Police also say they do not know if more than one person was shooting.

At this time, the shooter(s) are not in custody.

Police are still on scene attempting to locate the shooter(s).

No injuries have been reported.

Currently police are asking Columbia residents that live between Cherry and Chestnut Streets and 6th and 9th street to stay inside their homes until the situation is resolved. This area includes the 600-900 block of Cherry Street, Blunston Street, Houston Street, Ridge avenue, Locust Street, Walnut Street, and Chestnut Street.

This also includes Bethel street in its entirety as well as streets numbered 6th through 9th.

Police are asking non residents to avoid the area at all cost and to report any suspicious activity to police.
