MANCHESTER TOWNSHIP, Pa.-- The 2016 Keystone State Games are underway in York County, with the Lacrosse Championship taking place this weekend.
The tournament was held at Cousler Park in Manchester Township and was presented by York College of Pennsylvania. This championship is new to the county. in 2015, most of the events for the games were held in York County, but the lacrosse tournament was held separately in State College.
York County's Lacrosse Coach says it's a wonderful experience for everyone involved.
"It's a great tournament. It brings these kids that play in all different schools. We have about eight different school districts there that are all playing together for the first time and they've done great. It really is a good time for everybody. We're 5-0-1 now and we just won the semi-finals and we're playing a team from Pittsburgh," said Coach Frank Corto.
The Keystone State Games is Pennsylvania's largest amateur athletic festival.
This year is the second of three years it's being hosted by York County and is expected to bring $10-million into the local economy.
