SWATARA TWP., LEBANON CO.–A Lebanon County man was arrested Thursday on child pornography charges.

Matthew R. Strauss, 28, is charged with 21 counts of child pornography, 2 counts of disseminating obscene and other sexual materials to a minor and unlawful contact with minors.

Police began investigating Strauss in January 2016. Authorities learned that Strauss was contacting a 14-year-old boy from New York via cell phone and social media. Police say the pair exchanged inappropriate photos that were sexual in nature.

Investigators searched Strauss’ home in Swatara Township and seized numerous electronic items. A forensics analysis of the items revealed evidence of child pornography.

Strauss was arrested Thursday at his residence along the 2300 block of Quarry Road in Swatara Township. He was arraigned and taken to Lebanon County
