YORK COUNTY, Pa. – The mother of two toddlers is charged after her children are found wandering alone around a motel parking lot over the weekend.

At about 7:15 a.m. Sunday morning Northern York County Regional Police responded to the hotel in the 300 block of Arsenal Road after a hotel employee found the children, ages 2 and 3, walking through the parking lot in just their diapers.

Police quickly located the children’s mother as well as an additional 1 year old child in a room at the motel. The mother, identified as 23 year old Alicia Dawn Weatherby, was sleeping and the room her family was staying in was in deplorable condition.

Weatherby, of York, was taken into custody and arraigned on 2 counts of Endangering the Welfare of Children.

Police say their investigation into the incident continues. Anyone with additional information is asked to contact the Northern York County Regional Police Department at (717) 292-3647.
