DENVER, Pa.– A man charged with breaking into numerous churches and elementary schools in Berks County is now being charged with targeting a church in Denver.

Zachary May, 30, is currently an inmate at Berks County Prison as he is charged with 11 other burglaries. On Tuesday, May added another felony burglary and misdemeanor theft charge for a July 10 break-in at St. John’s United Church of Christ on S. 4th Street.

Investigations are still ongoing into how many locations May has burglarized, but he has admitted many of his crimes to police. He could still face additional charges from both counties.

During the July 10 burglary, May took about $30 in cash from the Denver church, but caused more than $4,600 in damages when he used a pry bar and screwdriver to open multiple doors and cabinets.
