York Police arrest man in early morning shooting that left one man injured

YORK CITY, Pa- York City police have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that happened early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the 100 block of S. Belvedere Avenue for a reported shooting just before 1:00 a.m.

When officers arrived on scene, they found one victim suffering from a minor gunshot wound. He was taken to York Hospital for treatment.

Police obtained a description of the suspect, who was spotted a short time later by officers.

After a brief police chase police arrested 26 year old Steven Stokes. He was found in possession of handgun. Stokes is charged with Attempted Homicide, Robbery, Theft by Unlawful Taking and Possession of Firearm Prohibited.  He is being held without bail at York County Prison.
