Police: Man pointed gun at Philhaven nurses, escaped with patient

WEST CORNWALL TOWNSHIP, Pa.–Police in Lebanon County are looking for a missing woman who left a mental health hospital with an armed man on Tuesday evening.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 18-year-old Elliott N. Ravert.

Ravert, of Narvon, is charged with robbery, aggravated assault and terroristic threats.

Officers with Cornwall Borough Police responded to Philhaven, a behavioral healthcare facility, located along the 200 block of South Butler Road in West Cornwall Township around 6:27 p.m. Tuesday for a report of a man inside the facility with a gun.

Police spoke with staff on-site who said Ravert walked into the lobby and demanded to talk to a nurse about a patient identified as 21-year-old Alicia Buzzard. He wanted to know why she was in lock down, according to the criminal complaint. Two nurses met with Ravert outside the locked adult ward and explained to Ravert that they could not comment on Buzzard. That’s when Ravert pulled out a gun and told the nurses he wasn’t afraid to shoot them, court documents state.

One of the nurses opened the door for Ravert and he whispered to them not to do anything stupid or he would shoot them, according to court records. During the exchange, Ravert took a two-way security radio from one of the nurses, police said.

Both Ravert and Buzzard fled the facility in a 2004 green avalanche SUV with a PA license ZGY-3594.

Right now, it is unknown if Buzzard willingly left with Ravert.

Anyone having information on the whereabouts of Ravert and Buzzard should call the Cornwall Borough Police Department at (717) 274-2071.
