Man suffers gunshot wound in shots fired incident in Harrisburg

HARRISBURG, Pa – Harrisburg Police responded shortly after 10 o’clock Tuesday night to 14th and Market Streets for multiple calls for shots fired.  Moments later additional calls were received that a male was shot.  When officers arrived on the scene they found an abandoned vehicle with the driver’s side door open in the middle of the street.  The vehicle also appeared to have been struck multiple times with gunfire.

While investigating the vehicle a call was received that a gunshot victim was located about a block away at 15th & Market Street.  Officers quickly ran to the location and found a 24 year old black male, lying on the sidewalk.  The victim was obviously shot in the leg.  It was determined that the vehicle found belonged to the victim.  The victim told police that his vehicle was fired upon by unknown persons.  He was transported to a local hospital and is expected to recover.

Dauphin County Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2000 for information leading to an arrest in this incident.
