LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. – A Stevens man is behind bars charged with rape of a 12-year-old girl. Charges against 20-year-old Dakota H. Cunningham include Rape of a Child, Unlawful Contact with a Minor and Indecent Assault.
Cunningham’s arrest, on Wednesday, August 10th, resulted from an investigation that began on April 20 by the Ephrata Police Department. Police say the alleged rape occurred in October, 2014 at a home in West Cocalico Township, Lancaster County.
The 12-year-old female victim, from another county, was in town visiting at the home with another female friend. During her visit Cunningham, allegedly sexually assaulted her. Cunningham, who lived at that residence, was 18-years-old at the time of the alleged rape.
Following arraignment Cunningham was sent to Lancaster County Prison after failing to post $300,000 in bail.
