Felipe A. Avila and Felipe R. Avila, of Brooklyn, New York, were arrested by Southern Regional Police Department after using fraudulent credit cards at a Rutter’s Farm Store.

Police officers were dispatched on August 7 to the convenience store on North Main St. in Shrewbury Borough. They use fraudulent credit cards to obtain gift cards, police said.

Officers were able to locate them traveling north bound on Interstate 83, where they initiated a traffic stop. During the investigation, multiple credit cards were located in the vehicle and on the occupants, Southern Regional Police officers reported.

When questioned, the Avila’s provided fake identification to the officers. They were then taken to Pennsylvania State Police barracks in Loganville, where they were identified by their finger prints.

Both men were arrested and charged for multiple charges, including identity theft and false information to law enforcement. The investigation continues into the use of the fraudulent credit cards.image003
