Cestari explained that Southern flies dozens of flights each day in the Mid-Atlantic Region between Pittsburgh and various communities in Pennsylvania, in addition to locations in Maryland and New York.  “The Caravans we fly are reliable, comfortable and provide a similar experience to owning your own private plane.  We give business travelers to Pittsburgh the opportunity to relax or be productive while traveling.”

Edwards, Executive Director, Harrisburg International Airport.  “We are grateful that Southern Airways will once again connect our two regions by air.”

Six airlines serve Harrisburg International Airport (MDT) offering about 70 flights daily to 13 non-stop destinations.  The Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority (SARAA) owns HIA, Capital City Airport in New Cumberland and both Franklin County and Gettysburg Regional Airports.  Incorporated in 1997, SARAA is a multi-municipal authority whose mission is to serve the region by providing high quality, efficient airports and promoting regional economic development.  Combined these four facilities handle about 90,000 aircraft operations and generate a total economic output of more than $990 million annually.
